The Optec® 1000 for School, Athletic, DMV, and Pre-Employment Vision Testing
The Optec® 1000 vision tester is ideal for DMV and pre-employment vision
testing, as well as basic patient vision screening and school and athletic
physical exams. The Optec® 1000 provides a complete array of vision exams,
including acuity, color, muscle balance, and contrast sensitivity tests. The
classic Optec® 1000 kit includes the Elementary
Test Slide (1000-22) Standard, the Multiple Acuity Slide (1000-23) Standard,
Plus and Near Point lenses, Allen test flash card, dust cover, record forms, and

before issuing drivers licenses. The Optec® 1000 is the sole machine used by the
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to test distance vision in cases where people
have difficulty reading the standard eye chart. The Optec® 1000 is also utilized
in occupations that use pre-employment vision testing to determine whether a
candidate meets certain vision requirements regarding distance vision and/or the
ability to discern color. Schools and athletic departments use the Optec® 1000
to perform regular vision testing for students and athletes.
Features of the Optec® 1000
- Remote-controlled tester that provides standard vision screening for school,
athletic, DMV, and pre-employment vision testing.
- Complete range of vision tests, such as acuity, color, muscle balance, and
contrast sensitivity.

between two glass plates for increased durability.
